BSF and IHRO to Host Wular Half Marathon On 03 Nov 2024

Srinagar,07 Oct: In a joint effort to promote tourism and environmental conservation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO) are set to organize the Wular Half Marathon on Sunday, November 3, 2024. The event will take place from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the picturesque Bandipora district of North Kashmir, near the renowned Wular Lake.

The Wular Half Marathon aims to highlight the natural beauty and significance of Asia’s second-largest freshwater lake.

Mohammad Yakub Dunoo, Media Incharge of IHRO, shared detailed about this marathon is a platform to showcase the untapped potential of Wular Lake as a tourist destination. By encouraging people to visit and explore its beauty, we hope to foster a sense of appreciation and responsibility for its conservation.”
Beyond promoting tourism, the event also seeks to unveil hidden gems within the Kashmir Valley.
